Albert C. Sloan

Albert Carter Sloan, age 85, of Cass City, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth. He was born on April 5, 1924 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Joseph and Nancy (Suttles) Sloan.

Albert Sloan married the former Wanda (King) Lynch on January 21, 1967 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on August 9, 1997. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been employed as a Nurse’s Aide in the medical field for many years. He enjoyed bingo, watching deer, his dog, and went to Big Boy every day for lunch when he was able. He was a member of Theron W. Atwood, Sr. American Legion Post #7 in Caro and the First Baptist Church of Caro.

He is survived by three step-children, Jerry (Ann) Lynch of Caro, Jackie (Don) Conat of Cass City and Mike Lynch of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii; his children, Albert Sloan, Jr. of Dearborn, Nancy (Larry) Warjeweski of Melvindale, Paul Sloan of Allen Park, Rosemary (Elmer) Castle of Taylor, Robin, Alan Sloan, Kelley Nemebez and James Sloan; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Sloan of Florida; several grand- and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry Michael Sloan; a brother, Paul Sloan; and a step-daughter, Sharon Dean.

The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Herron, First Baptist Church of Caro, officiating.

Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth.
